I show this image not only because it is shocking but because this was the first picture I saw in January about the California drought. Sure that their is more pictures that look just like this one in different areas and that I will make sure to post in my blog space as well but this one is the first image I saw and shocked me. This is a symbolic picture to me When I first saw this image my first thought was that someone was making a joke no way this could be happening. I honestly thought this was just Photoshop by some one that didn't care but then I started to see it on Facebook and Instagram and I started to realize it wasn't just one person making a joke but something serious. Which is great when you think about it people actually been aware of whats actually going around in California. WOW!!! The problem is that although many started to realize this was a serious issue their actions haven't shown the opposite. This lake represent a lot to us nearly half-a-million people get their water from here and in January as you can see it was dried which made governor Jerry Brown a drought emergency. We should think it what we use water for.

First of all I really hope you take some time and watch this video. This video of NBC news they discuss about the California drought in the farming aspect and a personal place. In this video we see Joe Fryer who is a reporter in Lake Piru what is shocking is that he is standing in a place where it should be filled of water where boats should actually be. However this is not the case he is in no boat and you can’t see any water because the California Drought has really impacted Lake Piru. Growing up I would always think of Santa Monica beach and how would it look like if there was no water. What would be there instead? Sounds kind of crazy and impossible to think of but this is similar to what happened to Lake Piru. This also affected the crops of other people because they have no more water for their crops as well. It is something happening right around the corner of LA that we can’t avoid and shocking.

Did you know that we are in an 80% exceptional drought. What your thoughts on this percent and this picture? When I
first read exceptional I thought it was okay to be like this that the word meant it was fine because I saw that the red meant
extreme drought didn’t really notice that exceptional was worse that extreme. And we can see in this picture we are in a very
horrible drought that for many is just the beginning. I put this picture to let yourself see what is happening in California and
how this drought is very serious.
